The role of the horse has changed a great deal since the invention of the automobile. Today the horse is called on more and more to be an athlete. Like human athletes, the horse gets sore muscles and injuries. When Jeff Petska served as the Chef d’Equipe for Team USA Reining at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain he learned about a type of therapy that would be a life saver to many equine athletes. While in Spain, Jeff and his wife Lisa met the therapist for the United States Equestrian Team, Doug Hannum. Jeff and Lisa noticed that the horses led by the best US driving team were 24 and 27 years old. Some of the top jumping and dressage horses are in their teens. That is when Jeff decided to ask Doug about a horse that had already had stifle surgery and was getting injections every 30 days, but was still crippled. Doug said he could fix him at his facility in Pennsylvania. After three months with Doug, the horse was totally sound. Using the Aqua-Tred and Bio-Magnetic Pulse Therapy, Doug had basically gotten the horse to heal himself. After a lot of research, Jeff and Lisa Petska decided to build an Aqua-Tred at their facility in Whitesboro, Texas.
